Guests are able to search people by their names, find people on the map and view their public profile as ice breaker to socialize. Photos taken at the party are shared among guests and available for download on the mobile app.
Static information is offered which includes party agenda and food and drink directory. Interactive map allows guest to locate guests, tables and other points of interest. The app provides contextual functions based on the party stage
Staying social does not equal being fully exposed on the mobile platform. Guests can modify the visibility of their personal information and location on the map. They can also flag any shared photo and remove them from public access.
Guests are able to create groups and enable folio and itinerary sharing with certain group members. Messaging and announcement establish the fundamental connection among guests. Digital content can be shared cross different social media.
With guest genome, the system generates and provides personalized recommendations and contextual information. Both dynamic and static routing functions are available on the map, along with dynamic search.
Guests authenticate into the system by providing credentials. Once authenticated, each guest will be authorized to access resources determined by their privilege levels in the system. Profound privacy control is set on activity types.
The wireframes and user flow were created based on a clear feature scope for 1 Merrier app. The goal of user flow is to clarify the function availability at different stages which are before, during and after the party. There were five main functions-ride request, attendant list and profile, map with POIs, party agenda and photos-with contextual availability. The user flow also supports the common ground between design and development of a detailed product scope at the early stage.
To define the overall visual style of the app, current trending UI examples were researched, collected and composed into style matrix. The matrix is based on metrics of text-heavy, graphic-heavy, business and personalized. With those metrics, the vision of the brand style of the app and further versions can be clearly pictured and tweaked based on the product’s purpose and context.
The context where 1 Merrier app would be used was a company’s annual party, and thus, Christmas and festive themes needed be added to the visual style along with Level’s branding language. With that goal, mood board of festive atmosphere was created to bring relative color and shape elements into the visual design.
The on-boarding process enables the guests to create profile, invite plus one and learn about app functions through easy steps. Once the guests sign into their accounts via the passcodes provided by the company, their will go through on-boarding process as their first user experience on the app. Each step is not required to be completed and allows skipping. Guests can modify and complete those tasks later on the app.
Clear visibility of food and drinks provision location and time can create delightful event experience. With the map of POI locations and their details, guest will easily find food, drinks and other service locations with one single menu launch.
The profile and location of each guest along with their plus one help as ice breaker and thus enhance the socialization and mingling activities during the party. On the other side, guests can change their privacy setting to reduce their social visibility.
